The five-piece reformed for a final world tour in 2007, but reports of a second, full-scale reunion were sparked by singer Geri Halliwell earlier this week.

Halliwell hinted she was in talks with Brown, Victoria Beckham, Emma Bunton and Melanie Chisholm over plans for a comeback, saying, "We are gathering information about a possibility."

On Thursday, tabloids suggested the Spice Girls were eyeing the 2010 championships in South Africa for a possible spectacular, but Brown has laughed off the "silly" claims in a post on her Twitter.com blog.

She writes, "World cup! wow the press are soo (sic) silly. no I am not getting the girls together for the world cup!!!"

But fans still have every reason to hope for another Spice Girls reunion - Brown adds, "We are getting together for other reasons!"
