The spinster wowed US TV audiences when she appeared on America's Got Talent in September to perform her version of the Rolling Stones hit Wild Horses - attracting a staggering 25 million viewers.
And bosses of UK talent contest The X Factor are hoping a performance from the unlikely superstar will help attract huge ratings on the other side of the Atlantic, according to the Daily Mirror.
A source tells the publication, "It makes sense and will create a big buzz."
Boyle shot to international fame after performing a storming rendition of I Dreamed A Dream from Les Miserables on Britain's Got Talent earlier this year.
She is expected to perform on the talent show in November.




Yusuf Islam, the artist formerly known as Cat Stevens, is strolling back onto the stage after a break of 33 years.
