The 21 year old claimed victory in the TV talent show last year and bagged the Christmas top spot in the charts with her single Hallelujah.

But her success has come at a price - friends of her younger brother Aaron have turned abusive, throwing stones at her car and smashing windows in the block of the Burke family's flat in Islington, north London.

She tells Marie Claire magazine, "Every time I come out it's abusive names. They start singing Hallelujah and shouting 'Alexandra The B**ch'. It upsets me."

Burke also reveals a failed suicide bid by her brother Aaron in July has torn the family apart.

She adds, "He wanted to die. He's going off the rails. He needs a father figure."
