The Disney superstar hit the road with her Wonder World Tour last month and the dates have started taking their toll on her health and voice.
During a gig in Salt Lake City, Utah on Tuesday, Cyrus was forced to take a 15-minute break to seek medical attention backstage.
On Wednesday, the singer/actress took to her Twitter.com blog to ask fans to stay positive ahead of her gig in Omaha.
She wrote, "Keep your fingers crossed Omaha. I am not feeling to (sic) good this morning..."
But Cyrus' sore throat has become so painful, she has had to cancel her upcoming gig "due to illness".
The show has been rescheduled and will take place on 13 October.




Yusuf Islam, the artist formerly known as Cat Stevens, is strolling back onto the stage after a break of 33 years.
