The Angels hitmaker made his TV comeback on Saturday, joining the hit show to mentor the 12 finalists.
He will reappear on Sunday's show to perform his new single Bodies on the first live installment of the hit talent contest, and confesses he would go down the reality route if he was trying to break into the industry.
He says, "I would have definitely have entered the X Factor if I was a kid now. Of course I would have.
"I'd be excited and overwhelmed by the opportunity of getting through one of the rounds. It would be the only format for someone like me."

He adds, "My voice isn't as good as some of these people competing. I might not have got through because I am lucky if I can get through a song and I've sung it in key. These people can really f**king sing."
