The Girls Aloud star is tipped to take number one on Sunday with her solo debut Fight For This Love, dethroning Burke, the singer she helped win the ITV contest last year.
While the 21-year-old's single is currently the fastest-selling of 2009, Cole is on course to shatter her record - but Burke insists there are no hard feelings between the pair.
She says, "Her performance on The X Factor was absolutely outstanding and I think she deserves it.
"I wish her every success. She just proves the point that if you've been in a group and you want to leave a group and you have time off, you can still be successful."
Cole sang on the TV talent show last Sunday and received mixed reviews - a week after Burke impressed X Factor viewers with her live performance of Bad Boys.




Yusuf Islam, the artist formerly known as Cat Stevens, is strolling back onto the stage after a break of 33 years.
