The singer has been touring Europe to promote her upcoming second album, Echo, but the trip was marred by a technical error which left her stuck in a cramped space with a group of over-excited fans for nearly half an hour, according to newspaper The Sun.
Lewis is still recovering from an incident at a book signing in London earlier this month, when she was punched in the head by a member of the public - and the elevator hitch this weekend tested her nerves once again.
A source tells The Sun, "It gave her a shock after the terrible incident at the book signing. But the alarm was raised and she was freed after 20 minutes."




Yusuf Islam, the artist formerly known as Cat Stevens, is strolling back onto the stage after a break of 33 years.
