The former Spice Girl, who now lives in Los Angeles, returned to her roots for a week as part of reality series Seven Days on the Breadline and was shocked by the experience of being back where she grew up.
She says, "It's a world away from my recollection of what it was like growing up in the area of West Yorkshire during the seventies and eighties."
But her rant against the city has angered locals - who have branded Brown's comments "sickening".
One tells the Daily Star, "As far as I'm concerned, she's ain't (sic) welcome here anymore. You only have to see the way she behaved while she was here to realise it's her who has changed, not us."
Yusuf Islam, the artist formerly known as Cat Stevens, is strolling back onto the stage after a break of 33 years.
