Leicester have signed former dual-code Australia winger Lote Tuqiri, the English Premiership champions said on Monday. Skip related content
Tuqiri, a rugby league international before switching successfully to union in 2002, will join his new club this week.
"To have someone of Lote's undoubted class available and interested in coming to Leicester is excellent news," coach Richard Cockerill said in a statement.
"He has been very successful at the top levels of the game. He is a world-class player and is still hungry to achieve things in the game.
Tuqiri played in 67 union tests for Australia, scoring 31 tries, including one in the 2003 World Cup final defeat by England in Sydney.
The 30-year-old's last test was in November 2008. He was sacked by the Australian Rugby Union in July for unspecified disciplinary reasons.
