The 54-year-old former model, who has three children, is partnered with professional dancer Brendan Cole in the BBC TV talent show and says he works her incredibly hard.
She explained to Closer magazine: "It's by far the hardest thing I've ever done. Even childbirth was easier - at least my children arrived quickly! I'm finding it a bit like going back to school.
"Brendan does work me hard. Sometimes I wonder if he's thinking: 'Oh my God, this woman is a joke!' But he never gets cross. Yesterday, my mind went blank and I had no idea what I was doing, but he managed to stay patient. I had a good cry."
Jo - who split from Rolling Stones rocker Ronnie Wood after he ran away with 20-year-old Russian waitress Ekaterina Ivanova - added she can see why Brendan, 33, is such a hit with the ladies.
Referring to his fiance, model Zoe Hobbs, she said: "If he were 10 years older and I were 10 years younger, it might just work.
"I'm good friends with Brendan and Zoe and I'm going to their wedding. I'll leave the first dance to them, though!"
