The out of tune 'X Factor' twins - who performed the group's 'We Will Rock You' on last Saturday's (31.10.09) show - have been given the seal of approval by Brian May, the legendary guitarist who wrote and recorded the original track.
Speaking at the Marshall Classic Rock Roll of Honour awards, Brian told BANG Showbiz: "Do you know what - I'm very happy they're doing the show and they put so much effort and life into it.
"I think God Bless 'em. It was a great production, very impressive, good luck to them."
As well as supporting the Irish twins, the only group left in the competition, he also defended their lack of vocal ability.
Brian added: "It's not the worst singing I've ever heard, and I've heard some bad singing in my time!"
Jonathan and Edward escaped a place in the show's bottom two acts for the third time on Sunday (01.11.09) when Rachel Adedeji was voted off the show.
The twins are set to perform Ray Parker Jr's theme from the film 'Ghostbusters' on Saturday's (07.11.09) movie themed show.
Meanwhile 'X Factor' judge Simon Cowell - who has previously branded Jonathan and Edward "vile" - is plotting to seal their fate by demanding they sing a slow song, which will expose the shortcomings of their vocal range.
He said: "It's going to show in the weeks to come if they do a ballad. Then the public will decide if they should stay."
