Disaster movie 2012 premieres in Los Angeles
The blockbuster, directed by Roland Emmerich, had its world premiere in Los Angeles, attended by cast members including John Cusack, Thandie Newton and Woody Harrelson.
Loosely based on the legend of the Mayan calendar, the film follows a prediction that the world will end in 2012.
An ensemble cast then struggle for survival whilst battling volcanoes, tidal waves and earthquakes.
Director Roland Emmerich, who also made Independence Day and The Day After Tomorrow said: "What I wanted to do, since I have made many movies like that, I thought if I was going to do one more I wanted a scale that was never seen before, I knew that. Special effects played a big part of that and we wanted to make so super real that people buy into it."
The movie opens in the UK on November 13.
