Madame Tussauds unveil Star Trek legend
Captain James T Kirk has now joined the ranks of heavyweight film stars like Nicole Kidman and directors Steven Spielberg and Alfred Hitchcock.
The actor and author was impressed by the museum's addition: "I am just pleased as all get out to be a part of the distinguished company of the Tussaud Museum. Wow! That is shocking actually. It will be here long after I am gone", he said.
Shatner became a cult figure after appearing in the original Star Trek TV series and went on to play the interstellar character in seven feature length films.
Yusuf Islam, the artist formerly known as Cat Stevens, is strolling back onto the stage after a break of 33 years.
