Another British soldier has died following an explosion in Afghanistan. Skip related content
The serviceman from 4th Battalion, The Rifles was serving with the 3 Rifles Battle Group when he was he was caught up in a blast near Sangin in central Helmand Province on Sunday morning.
He died from his injuries and his next of kin have been informed.
News of the soldier's death came just hours after the Ministry of Defence confirmed another serviceman, from 2nd Battalion, The Rifles, serving with 4th Battalion, had died following an explosion in the same area on Saturday afternoon.
Their deaths bring the total number of British service personnel killed as a result of the war in Afghanistan since 2001 to 232.
