Fort Hood names those killed in shooting

Colonel John Rossi read off the names of the deceased during a short, solemn news conference on Saturday afternoon on the base. He also asked that those gathered honour the fallen with a moment of silence.
Rossi hailed the victims as heroes and said a grateful nation salutes "their patriotism, their service, and their memory."
Meanwhile Killeen, a small bustling semi-rural town surrounding the base, is still in mourning, with white crosses left on the church lawn in memory of those who died.
The White House has said President Barack Obama will attend a memorial service on Tuesday at Fort Hood. Mr Obama has said in his weekly radio and Internet address that the training designed to keep US forces safe abroad prevented further deaths and ended the rampage.
Meanwhile Colonel John Rossi also read a statement on behalf of Sergeant Kimberly Munley, who is said to have confronted and shot Hasan.
He said she and her family were thankful for the support and prayers that have come their way.
Military criminal investigators continued late on Saturday to refer to Hasan as the only suspect in the shootings, declining to say when charges would be filed.
