The company will combine its data center methodology and industry knowledge with China Telecom's network and data center operations to create and deliver IT applications to healthcare providers.

Peter Altabef, president and chief executive at Perot Systems, said: "Perot Systems and China Telecom have agreed to develop and go to market with an e-health platform and IT services that support the advancement of healthcare across China. With a close relationship with China Telecom over the past two years, we look forward to a productive collaboration to benefit both healthcare providers and consumers."

The deal follows Perot Systems’ healthcare IT agreement with the Changsha Municipal Government in the Hunan Province of China to develop a plan for a city-wide Regional Health Information Platform, and for coordination of planning for healthcare data centers and the creation of electronic health records.
