Mecker will report directly to SAP executive board member John Schwarz. Prior to his new role, Mecker served as head of the Global Software and Technology Partner organization at SAP. Before joining SAP, he served as senior vice president of Global Solutions and Alliances at BearingPoint. He has also served at Valdero Corp (now acquired by One Network), KPMG Consulting, PeopleSoft and Oracle.

Schwarz said: "Singh is an ideal choice to continue moving our global ecosystem forward. We are grateful for the contributions made by Zia during his tenure with the company. Singh's leadership skills, strategic knowledge and comprehensive experience will build on the success of the ecosystem."

Earlier this month, SAP appointed Dominic Trotta as senior vice president and global head of Financial Services. It also appointed Charles R. Christopherson Jr. as head of the company’s global public administration industry business unit.
