The acquisition combines jNetX's SDP offerings with Amdocs' customer experience applications and service delivery capabilities. The company said the acquisition enhances its convergent charging offering, delivers closer integration with the Amdocs App Store, and provides a service delivery framework. It said the integration will enable service providers to expose both telecom and IP components in the network to offer convergent network, IT and web based services to all of their clients.
Gary Miles, CEO at jNetX, said: "One of the biggest challenges with this new, rapid service delivery model has been to ensure that services can be efficiently provisioned and properly monetized through real-time charging mechanisms. By incorporating the jNetX carrier-class service platform into the CES suite, Amdocs extends its market leading offering providing a consolidated OSS, BSS and SDP solution for consistent service creation, management, delivery, charging and customer care."
Last year, Amdocs acquired Ireland-based ChangingWorlds for $60m to expand its Amdocs CES portfolio for service providers. It also acquired London-based Jacobs Rimell for approximately $45m to expand its presence in the broadband cable industry and the operations support systems market.
