Web content delivery company Akamai has reported a 2% decline in net income to $32.74m for the third quarter 2009, compared to a net income of $33.36m in the year-ago quarter. Revenue increased 5% to $206.5m. Skip related content
Operating income fell 7% to $50.74m, while diluted EPS declined 2% to $0.18. Cash from operations was $105m during the quarter. The company repurchased approximately 2 million shares of common stock for $36.2m.
The company said sales through resellers accounted for 19% of the total revenue and sales outside the United States accounted for 28%. The number of customers under recurring contracts at the end of the quarter increased 8% to 3,031.
For the nine-month period, Akamai has reported a 1% increase in net income to $105.83m compared to a net income of $104.6m a year ago. Revenue increased 7% to $621.46m.
