Under the contract, AT&T Government Solutions will integrate software systems and manage the entire program, including quality management, configuration management and risk management. It will provide a wide range of software engineering and IT services such as systems engineering, software configuration, design and development, intranet and internet site development, database engineering, and hardware maintenance.
Additionally, AT&T Government Solutions will manage the Victim Notification System Call Center and provide Interactive Voice Response system administration and support. The call center will also provide help desk support for system users and victims.
The contract to develop the Victim Notification System was awarded to AT&T Government Solutions by the Department of Justice in 2000.
John Klebonis, vice president at AT&T Government Solutions, said: "As one of the architects of the Victim Notification System for the Department of Justice, AT&T knows firsthand the intricacies of the complexity of the system, from coordinating activities across the respective government agencies to the user training. AT&T’s proven approach to program management and software engineering will not only help the Department of Justice take advantage of new technologies, but also ensure that victims stay fully informed."
The deal follows AT&T's three-year contract from MEI, manufacturer of electronic bill acceptors, coin mechanisms and other unattended transaction systems, to provide managed network services.
