Harris Wins $196.5m US Department of State Consular Affairs Deal

Communications and IT company Harris Corp has won a five-year $196.5m contract from the US Department of State, Bureau of Consular Affairs to provide installation, training, operational support and configuration support services. Skip related content

Under the contract, Harris will provide installation, training, help desk and IT services in support of 270 domestic and international consular operations. It will provide a range of activities from assisting with newly-emerging mission critical requirements to supporting routine administrative needs. The support services include shipping and installing equipment and applications, training, on-site system administration, configuration management and repair, technology upgrades, as well as help desk support and related services.

Additionally, the deal includes work from Harris Corp's Department of State, Consular System Support - Bureau of Consular Affairs agreement as well as work from other contracts including Department of State Passport Support.

Harris team for the contract includes Stanley Associates, Apptis, Mantech International, System Sciences Corporation International, Worldwide Information Network Systems, Access Systems, Acuity, Array Information Technology, Electronic Consulting Services, Navigation Arts, Primescape Solutions, and TJ Westlake. The Harris team has been providing support to the Department of State for more than 10 years.

Wayne Lucernoni, vice president of Civil Federal Operations at Harris IT Services, said: "Harris will leverage over 12 years of experience supporting the Bureau of Consular Affairs to ensure this project exceeds expectations. We are proud to have a key role in helping the Bureau issue and adjudicate visas and in that capacity, help safeguard the security of US borders."

The deal follows Harris' $419m contract from the US Army to provide multiband tactical manpack radios and vehicular power-amplifier adapter systems.
