The company said the 350,000 square-foot green facility will create approximately 870 jobs over the next three years. The company has already hired and trained nearly 120 employees for the facility.

The facility is also close to the company’s other operations in Georgia, including the corporate headquarters and innovation center in Duluth, and global customer service center in Peachtree City. The company relocated its headquarters from Dayton, Ohio, to Duluth in June.

Peter Dorsman, senior vice president of Global Operations at NCR, said: "Our decision to bring our North American ATM manufacturing in-house was driven by our belief that self-service ATM technology becomes more strategic to financial institutions. By in-sourcing the production of our SelfServ ATMs, we will decrease time-to-market, improve our internal collaboration, and lower our current operating costs."

Earlier this year, the company announced plans to set up a manufacturing and research and development center in Brazil to produce ATMs for the Brazilian, Latin American, and Caribbean markets, with an initial investment of BRL 73m ($27.33m).
