The star will shoot a 60-minute special for ABC at her Californian home, speaking to news anchor Robin Roberts.
She is expected to detail her relationship with the pop idol and her reaction to news of his death back in June.
As previously reported, Janet paid tribute to Michael at the MTV Video Music Awards in New York in September, playing their collaboration "Scream".
The interview goes out in the US on November 18.
