Rihanna has "X-Factor"
The US star returns with her new album, "Rated R", this month, the first since February's infamous altercation with former boyfriend Chrs Brown.
This week, she has spoken publicly for the first time about the incident, telling a UK tabloid she thought he "was perfect" before it happened.
"I've definitely emerged stronger after the year I've had. Going through a rough experience like that makes you tougher and to get through it takes a lot of guts.
"I'm naturally a survivor but it's been hard to say the least. I just tried to live my life but it was hard. I was in the spotlight but for all the wrong reasons", she said.
Speaking about her upcoming turn on the ITV singing competition, Rihanna admitted it was "the easiest decision I've ever made".
"A lot of people watch the show over here on YouTube and I personally caught a lot of it when Leona Lewis was on who's an amazing artist.
"So to say yes to Simon was an honour, especially as I know the show so well", she explained.
"Rated R" is due out on November 23.
Yusuf Islam, the artist formerly known as Cat Stevens, is strolling back onto the stage after a break of 33 years.
