Cassetteboy remixes Barack Obama to promote arms trade treaty for Amnesty International

In a cleverly edited video the American President appears to deliver a passionate and inspiring speech on the global arms trade.

Viral video star Cassetteboy has used his brilliant editing skills on President Barack Obama to call for a regulation of the international arms trade in a bid to save hundreds of thousands of lives.

The cleverly edited video sees the American President deliver a passionate and inspiring speech advocating a tough treaty to prevent armed groups buying arms to use against innocent civilians.

Cassetteboy is famous for splicing together film and television footage to create hilarious videos. His previous victims include London Mayor Boris Johnson and television show 'The One Show'.

The newest release sees him team up with Amnesty International to raise awareness for its latest campaign.

In the video Obama apparently draws attention to corporations that sell arms to human rights abusers and repressive leaders around the world - who in turn use the weapons on innocent civilians and or to arm child soldiers in North Africa or the Middle East.

He 'calls for' more regulation and scrutiny of the transfer of arms around the world and 'promises' to sign a tough international arms trade treaty to prevent murderous regimes buying tanks and weapons.

The video mashes up Obama's speeches to make him say: "Today I can say with pride that when a tyrant threatens a bloodbath the weapons of war will not say made in America."

The video comes just days ahead of talks at the United Nations where an Arms Trade Treaty is set to be discussed.

Amnesty International is calling for a strong treaty to control the trade of weapons around the world.
