    Amy Winehouse's sober UK comeback

    (BANG) -

Amy Winehouse performed a polished and sober UK comeback show on Sunday (12.06.11).

The troubled singer - who recently completed a short stint in rehab for problems with alcohol - played seven songs including 'Rehab', 'Back to Black' and 'Valerie' as well as new tracks for a small crowd at London's 100 Club, her first show since a handful of dates in South America in January.

A source said: "Amy was on fantastic form. She looked and sounded great. It was like one of her old performances."

Amy also entertained the audience - which included her mother Janice, aunt Jane and boyfriend Reg Traviss - with a selection of jokes.

The source added: "She had the crowd laughing along with her gags, poking fun at herself and dad Mitch. She also threatened to flash her boobs and made a few jokes about her voluptuous look."

Onlookers also believe her most recent rehab visit was a success as Amy didn't touch a drop of alcohol all night.

The source added to The Sun newspaper: "Gone was the fragile, volatile and unpredictable Amy. She wasn't knocking back vodka on stage - and she definitely hadn't stopped at the off-licence on her way to the gig."

Amy is reportedly planning some more intimate shows in preparation for an upcoming 12 date European tour which starts in Serbia on Saturday (18.06.11).

amy is the real deal, artist's lives are always a struggle, its called " paying your dues" sadly it goes with an industry tougher to break into than the nba, if your not "marketable like miley and taylor" they dont need you, especially if you actually have talent, like amy, talent fricks up theyre ability to market elementary level drivel like bieber, and gaga. she and adele are kickin our girls butts, but england teaches music in their schools from gr.1 thru graduation, america teaches how to be little bit&*#'s and how to make a taco.check out kate bush's new release if you want to hear what talent used to sound like america.

Good for her. It's great to see her back, sober and straight. I was greatly concerned during her marriage to Blake the junkie. Take care Amy.

Come on back, Amy! You are severiously missed. And for anyone planning a Lilith-like tour, book Amy, Adele, Alice Russell, Ledisi, India.Arie, Lauryn Hill, Kate Bush, Bjork, Sinead, Angelique Kidjo, Nneka, Janelle Monae, Alison Moyet, Sade, Millie Jackson, Jill Scott. I could listen to these ladies all day. No gaga, minaj, beyonce, mariah, madonna, kesha, miley, britney allowed! Alicia Keys, you MIGHT be let into the club if you promise to get off the pop wagon n bring back the soul, girl. =-)

fast eddie, is that what your wife calls you in bed?

Yes, you are partly correct. You see, it is the substance that weakens the mind but not the person.
