Apartment Building Wall Collapse Causes Alarm in St Petersburg

Part of the wall of an apartment building in eastern St Petersburg fell to the street below on Thursday, April 6, damaging a parked car. There were no reported injuries, according to the news agency RIA.

Despite initial reports of an explosion, authorities told reporters that the wall collapsed due to disrepair and that the building had not been evacuated.

Security was on high alert in St Petersburg where, on April 3, an explosion ripped though a metro train, killing 14 people.
