Brits will get an early glimpse of spring as an unusually mild spell of weather is expected by the end of the week – with top temperatures of 17°C (63F).
The balmy weather comes just a week after the mercury plunged to a chilly low of -15.6°C in Holbeach, Lincolnshire, during the first half of the month.
Could it be time to put the winter clothes away already? The Met Office says temperatures could reach 17°CMet Office forecaster Sarah Holland told Yahoo! News on Monday: “The massive change in weather is due to a south-westerly flow bringing milder air.”

But before the much-anticipated shirt-sleeve weather sets in on Thursday, the first half of the week will remain wet and windy.
The warmest places will be in the south, however, forecasters predict that the east of Scotland and the West Midlands could see temperatures up to 16°C due as early as Wednesday.
While the weather will stay unseasonably warm until early next week, forecasters warned that it would not necessarily be wall-to-wall sunshine.
Met Office forecaster Helen Chivers said with the weather coming in from the Atlantic, we would usually expect to see a fair amount of cloud too.
