Best gaming app for your iPhone

Who doesn't like playing games on their mobile? When one has an iOS device, the gaming world is at your fingertips. Here are my top 10 gaming apps for an iPhone:

    1. Draw Something

By OMGPOP, this game is ridiculously addictive. You play against a friend from Facebook, choose a word to draw, and show off your best artistic skills. The opposing player then watches your video and guesses the word, and vice versa. There are three points for the hardest word and one point for the easiest. When you have collected enough points, you can increase your colour palette and bombs. Bombs reduce the word choice giving you an easier guessing game. The basic colour palette is given to you and five bombs increase your points so you can develop your colour palette and be a pro. There is a free app and a paid version of £0.69p. Go for the paid version - there are more choice of words.

    2. Temple Run

I started playing this for a few minutes and before I knew it, I was hooked, I wanted to increase my score every time. This free app is really good for journeys home from work if you travel on public transport. It's an endless action video game designed by Washington D.C based Imangi Studios. The game revolves around a curious explorer attempting to steal an idol from a temple, who is then chased by demonic monkeys. The player controls the explorer and aims to run as far as possible without being eaten.

    3. Bejeweled

Highly addictive gem puzzling game by Popcap. The game has a new update, Butterflies! It's fascinating - the butterflies appear at the bottom of the board and move up a space every time you match the tiles in a row. The hungry spider at the top of the board is waiting to catch any butterfly it can, so your objective is to match the butterflies or to use special gems to free them. Bejeweled is a really fun app with features that include Diamond Mine, Zen, Classic, Butterflies and Blitz. Blitz is integrated with Facebook, so it's a good, competitive game to score higher than your FB friends. You only have a minute, so use it carefully and zap your friends to last position!

    4. Shark Dash

A new benchmark for physics puzzle games. Shark Dash is a highly addictive game that takes the physics puzzler to fun new heights with a unique cartoonish style, starring funny little bath toys. Sharkee and his merry band of toy sharks were living happily in the bathtub. That is, until a bunch of mischievous ducks came along to ruin their peaceful world. When the ducks kidnap Sally, Sharkee's girlfriend, that's when Sharkee and his buds have had enough. They embark on a wild journey to tricky bathtubs around the world, save Sally and get rid of the dimwitted ducks. It's simple - all you have to do is drag and release the shark's tail with your finger to launch him at the ducks. Dispose of the ducks and collect the coins with the fewest jumps possible to earn 3 stars. With 96 levels and 4 different environments, there are lots of missions and achievements to unlock.

    5. Fruit Ninja

The most popular fruit slicing game, a juicy action enjoyed by millions of players around the world, with squishy, splatty, and satisfying fruit carnage. Become the ultimate bringer of sweet, tasty destruction with every slash. I find it simple fun but best of all challenging. It's a game where you can release your slight anger in, by chopping, dicing, slicing the fruit with a ninja sword, there couldn't be a better way. Be careful of the bombs though - they are explosive to touch and will put a swift end to your juicy adventure.

    6. Cut the Rope

A very addictive game, the objective is to cut the rope and feed the monster the candy. But you have to gain a star before you move onto the next level. Achieving all three stars make it even better and increases your score. For just £0.69p you are really getting your monies worth. The new update is optimised for iOS 5, rendered level boxes to ensure better game play experience and new buzz box featuring the rope moving bees. All in all, it's good fun and time consuming when bored.

    7. Tiger Woods PGA Tour 12

For the sport enthusiast, this is definitely one for the golf lovers. See how you stack up with real PGA TOUR Pros. You can even create your own male/female golfer with more custom options. Play a quick round, go head-to-head via Wifi or Bluetooth multiplayer, or enter the PGA TOUR Mode. Take on the Tiger challenge and casually hone your skills with over 20-mini games and unlock special prizes. EA Games have done a tremendous job with this game.

    8. Clear Vision (17+)

Tyler is an ordinary guy whose patience gets pushed too far. After getting fired as a supermarket cleaner he begins a violent career as a professional assassin. This, however, is also the beginning of social decline, false friends and a spiral of deception. Watch out, you can't trust anyone! It's a good game, but needs to be longer. All you have to do is aim and shoot, which makes Clear Vision a good shooting action game.

    9. Zynga Poker

Is luck your lady? This free app by Zynga lets you play Poker live against more than 6 million daily users. There's always a table waiting for you in this exciting Texas Hold'em game. This app is great for poker lovers, and offers you endless game fun throughout the day.

    10. Angry Birds

A strategy puzzle video game developed by Finnish computer game developer Rovio Mobile. The survival of the Angry birds is at stake, these wingless creatures must dish out revenge on the green pigs who stole their eggs. Use the destructive powers of the Angry Birds to lay waste to the pigs fortified castles. Hours of fun and humour which allows you to use logic, skill, and brute force to crush the enemy. Once you start, you won't put it down. Offers hours of replay time to gain all three stars and the golden surprise eggs.
