  1. The European Parliament is just another gang of unaccountable, corrupt politicians who are wallowing in a much bigger trough than they occupied in their respective countries.
    They are the Elite and we, the working class that has to fund these theiving rats, are now classed as peasants.
    Do not vote for the NEW FASCIST EUROPEAN GOVERNMENT, they will just exploit us even more, they will grow wealthy while we lose our rights to freedom and just become their worker ants.

  6. At last some info on the European Parliament, well done editor. Well folk I actualy read the proposed constitution and I have been reliably informed that the Lisbon Treaty will give the same powers to the EP as the constitution would have. In amongst a long and waffly do@#$%ent ,created to drive you to sleep or drink were a few very important sentences along these lines;
    1. The European Parliament will from now on and forever have the power without referring to the public to instigate any new laws and policies these laws and policies will supercede all of those of all member nations.
    2. Any senior member of the EP involved in policy making etc, that later proves to be false, or illegal shall be immune from prosecution during their lifetime.
    3. Any nation applying to leave the EU will have their case reviewed by the EU and severe penalties will be applied in a monetry form.This process will take a few years.

    What you should also know is that the EP is in their words a democracy believing in Human Rights etc , that is why they did not accept no for an answer from the French referendum or from Holland with the constitution, and will not with the Irish either this time round if they vote no.
    But please be aware that when the Lisbon treaty comes into force as it will, then national governments will be unneccessary, the 12 regions in UK are all that is needed, answerable to Brussels and Strasbourg ( yes there are two EP's Stras.. is used just 12 times a year.)
    I personally believe that Westminster will be used for the London Region with the reduced members already hinted at by one MP.

    No parties in our parliament will speak about the Eurpean Parliament because the know that if the public are informed there is likely to be an uprising worse than any seen in GB for centuries.
    So just all of us ,shut up and keep paying ,according to our gov.figures £40million a day across the water to keep all MEP's filthy rich, and pay for updating the rest of europe !!! Now you know why our public lavs for a start are shocking and those left open disgusting, the dosh to run them is spent across the water. Do I sound angry , you bet I do and when crass stupid comments are written here I almost dispair.
    I truly wish that newspapers would actually inform us about all the ins and outs of europe, and forget about nonesense, like Jordan models her equestrian hot pants, personally I would love to see her at full gallop in a bikini, now that would hold my attention, wowee, down boy!

  7. I just haven't a clue what they all do, or who they are. I do not know who is my euro MP or who I should vote for. Don't even know who or what the parties are. I just hear that they are all doing nicely on the EU 'Gravey train.'

  8. The whole EU thing is a total and utter nonsense and the only beneficiaries are qangos, corrupt farmers (who receive massive subsidies for doing essentially nothing - eg. The EU says we need more sunflower production. A farmer in Spain applies for a grant to grow said sunflowers. He receives the money, doesn't acually grow anything and nobody EVER comes to check if he has or hasn't.) and 3rd world Eastern European countries receive development grants. Where does that money really go? In politicians pockets. Stop the rot and fight back now before all your rights are killed forever.

  9. jonk47: Correct, as far as it goes. You missed little things like losing Habeus Corpus and the right to be innocent until proven guilty. Corpus Juris is different to UK law, but will take precedence. But, Teflon already signed us up so we only have to wait for I think two more Countries to ratify it (one being Eire, who will have a 'Yes' vote no matter what the count; much like (was it?) Florida for Dubya's second term) for the whole Colossus to take its next step.
    .
    I am not a 'conspiracy theorist', nor do I subscribe to sniper_traffic's views (who has been very quiet recently and I don't think has posted here). Its just that, sometimes, he's right!
    .
    Little aside: all of the countries in last couple of groups to join had to agree to the Constitution as it was in 2003 before they could join. So the EU almost doubled in size, with half of it not being allowed to vote on the Constitution, nor subsequently debate the Lisbon Treaty. Their accession said 'Yes' (or a resounding 'Iva' here).

  10. Ref all UK parties fighting the EU election, well I think it's like this;
    If you wish all of us to lose the power to run our own country, to lose self determination, to be able to set our own set taxes, make rules ,laws etc then vote for; Lib Dem if you are in a real hurry to be taken over. Vote Labour if you want to just surrender quickly to Brussels, and Conservative ( Tory ) if u wish to be dragged in ,slowly but surely like a naughty kid who has been caught cheating on his expenses. Or Green who are all jolly nice people, are concerned about You and me and the state of the planet but who haven't the business sense to take over and run a country.

    If you want self determination, by leaving the EU ie make your own rules /laws as we have done very successfully for centuries. If You want to be real friends with all races and nations, and love others like you love yourself (I hope ) regardless of race, code or creed. If you want to do business with all nations, in a very moral way and care about our nation and Royal Family. If you want to see good example set by those in society whose responsiblilty it is to set those examples , then vote I suppose for someone like UKIP ( United KIngdom Independance Party ).

    Finally as far as I can tell if you want to be out of europe and it would appear rule this nation and retain a head of state as at present. But appear to terrify lots of people by being rather nationalist and apparently racist, then vote for BNP . Personally what I don't care for is they seem to have given a bad name to bald men, of course that is not racist.

    You will have gathered by now who I am inclined to vote for, I am fed up with supporting all the other nations of europe, and another expensive layer of rubber stamping, trough slurping, self important layabouts, but I do enjoy meeting other cultures, and when in Rome I try to do as the Romans do ( except pinching ladies bottoms! ). Now where did I put my heart pills???
