While large corners of the world are busy celebrating Obama's presidential victory there will be some people feeling slightly deflated to see George Bush step down as US president.

Over the past eight years Bush has provided us with endless amusement as a result of his faux pas or ‘Bushisms' as they've been dubbed. Here are twenty of our favourites.

  2. I think history will prove that Bush was not the buffoon everyone thinks,and Obama is not the Messiah everyone thinks he is.
    He was/is not the slick talking "Slick Willie Clinton" wordsmith,
    I know people will find that hard to believe at this time,but wait...
    Look at Blair and New Labour...It wasn't too many years ago Blair and Brown were thought higly enough to keep them in power since 1997. Now in 2008....???
    Politics and politicians are a profession of smoke and mirrors ,so don't be too convinced that Bush was as he appeared.

  3. To all the British posters on this site who decry Americans for keeping Bush in power for TWO terms:
    "Labour Government (Blair/Brown)in power since 1997,no chance of getting rid of Brown and party for another year or two " Snap !
    Blair got out while the going was good.
    Should they be so free with the jibes ?
    The saying "People who live in glass houses should not throw stones " applies
