Bobby Brown Held On Drink-Driving Charge

Whitney Houston's ex-husband Bobby Brown has been arrested on suspicion of drink-driving for the second time this year.

The singer was stopped in his car in the Topanga area of Los Angeles in the early hours of Wednesday.

Police spokeswoman Venus Hall said he was booked at the Van Nuys jail on suspicion of driving under the influence, but was later released.

A representative for Brown could not immediately be contacted.

The 43-year-old pleaded no contest to a drink-driving charge earlier this year following a March arrest in Los Angeles.

Under a plea agreement, Brown checked himself into a rehabilitation centre in August.

The Masterpiece, Brown's first album in 15 years, came out this summer.

Whitney Houston died in February of an accidental drowning complicated by the effects of heart disease and cocaine, which was found in her system.

The couple's relationship was notoriously tumultuous, and the two waged public battles with substance abuse before divorcing in 2007 after 15 years of marriage.

Brown and Houston's daughter, 19-year-old Bobbi Kristina, is currently starring in a reality show called The Houstons: On Our Own.
