Bodies Of Two Children And Man Found In Flat

The bodies of a man and his two young sons have been found in a flat in Tidworth, Wiltshire.

An ambulance was called to the flat in Auchinleck House in Sidbury Heights at 1.20pm on Saturday where the discovery was made.

Police officers who attended found the body of a man in one room, named by police as Graham Gordon Anderson, and those of two children in another room.

Sky sources said the children were believed to be aged three and 11.

The property was cordoned off and a full forensic examination started by crime-scene investigators and a pathologist.

An incident room was set up at Marlborough police station.

Detective Chief Inspector Ian Saunders said: "We believe we know the identities of the people who have died, but formal identification has not yet taken place.

"At this early stage we cannot be sure what has led up to this terrible incident, but I can say that we are treating the tragic deaths of the two children as suspicious.

"I am not looking for anyone else at this time in connection with this incident.

"The mother of the children has been informed and we are seeking to contact other family members."

Officers interviewed residents but appealed to the public to come forward if they can help with any information.

DCI Saunders added: "We have done some house-to-house inquiries, spoken to witnesses, and there's (some) indication that there was activity in the flat on Thursday morning.

"But we're still looking to make sure we get those witness details and accounts properly recorded to make sure we get the best possible picture for the coroner."

Tidworth mayor Chris Franklin, a former Royal Horse Artillery soldier, said: "This town, being a military place, is used to death and preparing for death, but certainly not used to anything like this. It's a tragic loss of the lives of two young children.

"It's something that always happens somewhere else – not in your community – and it is fair to say that everyone will be shocked to the core."

Neighbour Sian Copeland, who works at the local primary school, added: "We are all so shocked. Those poor little souls.

"My heart goes out to their mother and family."
