    Capello Blasts Rooney

Fabio Capello has criticised Wayne Rooney claiming he only keeps his best form for Manchester United.

Last week Rooney insisted communication in the England team is much better with Roy Hodgson in charge.

During an interview on Italian radio Capello hit back following his country’s penalty shootout victory over England at Euro 2012.

Capello said: "After watching the last game I think that Rooney understands only Scottish."

"That's because he only plays well in Manchester, where Sir Alex Ferguson speaks Scottish."

Speaking after England's Euro 2012 exit, current England boss Roy Hodgson admitted that Rooney may have struggled with his form.

Hodgson told reporters: "I think we put a lot of expectations on him. When he missed the first two games we were all believing that what we need to do now get to the third game and Wayne Rooney will win us the championships. That maybe was too much to ask of him."

Rooney has only scored four times for England in the past two seasons, while excelling for his club Manchester United finding the net 51 times.
