A car has plunged at least four floors down a lift shaft in New York as a parking attendant tried to move the vehicle.
The large SUV fell about 40ft at the Manhattan garage when the lift platform apparently failed to move into position on the fifth floor.
At least one person was pulled from the upturned vehicle and taken to hospital, police said.
A second person on the lower floor of the car park was also injured.
Both are reportedly in a stable condition.
The parking garage is located in Manhattan's Upper East Side and serves local businesses as well as a vehicle rental company.
The cause of the accident is under investigation.
