Carrie Underwood Covers the June Issue of Glamour Magazine: Love it or Hate It?

Carrie Underwood has certainly come a long way since her "American Idol" days as evidenced by her June cover of Glamour magazine. In the accompanying interview, she expresses quite a bit of vulnerability when she talks about her career, her new album and her relationship with her husband. So what do you think of her most recent magazine photos and interview?

    The cover

The June cover of Glamour shows the country crooner wearing a peach sleeveless Rochas dress that has buttons down the front and a flowy skirt. She's seated on a bench in front of a bed while the long skirt of the dress is pulled up to her knees and the top half of the buttons are undone revealing a white bra-style top underneath. The photo is pretty, but there's something about her doing the open-mouth expression while looking at the camera from the corner of her eye that doesn't work for her. It just doesn't look natural.

    The pictorial

The beauty does a series of photos for the magazine and looks lovely as always. In the first photo, she's wearing the same peach Rochas dress as on the cover, but the skirt is draped over her legs and stretched out around her body. Although she's looking at the camera, she still has the slightly open-mouth expression that doesn't fit her. A second photo shows her wearing a white Tory Burch dress and gray Miu Miu boots while sitting in the cab of a truck. It's such a simple photo but she looks gorgeous, especially with the yellow ribbon headband in her hair. In a third photo, she's kneeling on a bed while wearing khaki Michael Kors shorts, a yellow and white Isabel Marant shirt and teal and white Marc Jacobs pumps. The heels with the outfit is a strange pairing, but it somehow works and helps to create an absolutely adorable picture.

The fourth photo is black and white and is a simple portrait in which she's gazing off while her hand is on her chin. Her skin and makeup look flawless, but the hair - as wild as it looks - really completes the photo. In another picture, she's wearing a blue slip dress with the aforementioned Marc Jacobs heels. Not the best picture she's done; the positioning of her hand and her expression makes it an awkward photo. Another picture shows her seated at a table while wearing a tan and white checkered shirt over a white slip. It's a cute photo, but nothing particularly special about it. The last picture is black and white and shows the singer leaning on a guitar that's placed on her lap. It's a great photo, not only because she looks beautiful, but because it looks natural.

    The interview

In the accompanying interview, the Oklahoma native talks about everything from her new album to her relationship with her husband. Her new album, "Blown Away," was released today and fans will be happy to know that she kicks off a new tour on May 26 in Baton Rouge, Louisiana and finishes it on December 22 in Sunrise, Florida. Carrie explains that the new album is not all just sugar, that there's plenty of spice in there as well. She's says, "There's a happy-go-lucky feeling to some of it: A nice spring day, put the top down, turn it up, enjoy the world. But there's a darker feeling too. We kill a couple people. It wouldn't be a Carrie Underwood album without a revenge song on it. People really like when I do that. I don't mean to. I don't hate men that much. But it turns out so well!"

Although many celebs worry about what their guy is doing while they're away, she discusses the incredible amount of trust she has for her husband, Mike Fisher. While talking about what it's like for both of them being in the public eye, she explains "Any guy I've ever dated, there would always be that doubt: 'He didn't answer his phone. What's he doing? It's late.' I'm not the crazy-girlfriend type, but there was a little voice in the back of my head. I don't have to worry about Mike. I don't think twice. He's going out? I don't care; it doesn't bother me. I don't bat an eye."

What do you think of her new photos and interview?
