Celtic Make It 17 Wins In A Row

Celtic remain four points ahead of Rangers in the battle for the Scottish Premier League title after wins for both teams this weekend.

Joe Ledley scored the only goal of the game as the leaders beat Inverness Caledonian Thistle at Celtic Park. His goal secured a 17th successive win for Celtic in all competitions.

Both sides finished the game with 10 men, though, after Celtic's Swedish defender Daniel Majstorovic and Caley Thistle's Steve Williams were both sent off in separate second half incidents.

Rangers remain four points behind Celtic after winning at Dunfermline. They had to come from behind after Andy Kirk put the home side in front. Veterans David Healy and Lee McCulloch both scored for the champions to give them a 2-1 lead at the break - and further goals from Sone Aluko and Salim Kerkar in the second half completed a 4-1 victory.

Dundee United manager Peter Houston insisted his team were "rubbish", despite seeing them thrash St. Johnstone.

United were helped on their way by two own goals - one of them scored by Steven Anderson who then redeemed himself by scoring at the right end to reduce the deficit. Johnny Russell, Jon Daly and Milos Lacny all scored in the last five minutes as Dundee United went on to win 5-1.

In the day's other games, Suso Santana rescued a point for Hearts with a stoppage-time equaliser at Kilmarnock where Paul Heffernan had put the home side in front. Hibernian versus Aberdeen and St. Mirren against Motherwell both finished goalless
