If MP's did what the public want, we would not be in the EU.
      • MICHAEL 2 months ago
The throuble is Dave, our Mps will not do that because the EU gravy train is up and running. Doing what the voters' want is totally alien to them
      • Lynne 2 months ago
The MP's and PM would not have the huge salaries they would be capped and the people would stop their expenses and its about time! They should be made to live on £67.50 per week for six months then they would know what its like

Diesel may cost less to produce, but HMG realised that with Diesel users getting more miles to the gallon than petrol users, they dont have to fill up so often, therefore they are losing money if more go to diesel.

as far as the banks bailout are concerned, HMG should have made them agree that NO bonuses will be paid out until all the money has been repaid back to the taxpayer, if they dont sign and agree, then they go bust, its not rocket science
      • Mary H 2 months ago
I have had diesel fuel cars for years. Its got to the stage where I am struggling to keep the car on the road. Its wrong and the tax on fuel is diabolical. The majority of the money charged at the pump is tax. We are the highest taxed country in the world and what for? To see money squandered on things like the EU.
      • Steve 2 months ago
Highest tax current and still witha £1 trillion worth of debt. What has our govts been doing with all our cash.
      • Pebbles 2 months ago
Steve - MP's expenses, Foreign Aid to countries that clearly don't need our money and in the meantime pensioners struggle to heat their homes during the winter months.
    • mark  •  Madrid, Spain  •  3 months ago
Countries which need bailing out or are reliant on aid have always been so, it is a part of their culture, do think think India will ever say thanks so much for helping us over the past few years, we don't need your money now? OF COURSE BLOODY NOT! and it is the same with all the other countries. Africa still allegedly needs clean water, with the amount of money from charities and aid the place should be covered with wells, Not Glittering Dictator's Palaces.

The people of India have fought on the side of the English in both world wars and many of their people died. We do subside them for their tea
    • Sir “Jock” Strappe  •  London, England  •  3 months ago
Look after Britain FIRST.Withdraw from EU saving £45m a day in menbership fees. Stop all foreign aid eg Somalia, India, China & Brazil. Stop benefits to Immigrants that haven't paid a penny into the system. Now there's a saving of £billions to start with.
      • Jacques le Reaper 3 months ago
FAR TOO SENSIBLE....for anyone in parliament to listen to.

If they did'nt plough our hard earned money into the cesspits of the world we would have enough money for the pensioners and the low earners. Cut all overseas aid now !
      • Trevor D 3 months ago
We do have enough money for the pensioners and the low earners, The money that goes on aid and to the EU is a mere bagattel compared with that which goes to social security etc in the UK. The cuts should be more evenly applied and some of this needs cutting!
      • Wacker 3 months ago
I do not think we shoiuld cut off all foreign aid but i do think we should insist that it is spent where it is intended to be spent and not on fast fast and fast women for the elite

I should think so too, where are all these people when we are in trouble? All we get from them is their undesireables sponging on us! The next thing is get out of Afghanistan, after what has happened this week that is it, they dont deserve or need our help. just savages, and there is no way we can deal with it, let the buggers get along with it in their own way.
    • Michael  •  St Albans, England  •  3 months ago
Charity begins at home..nobody is bailing us out are they..the Greeks will NEVER pay that money back how can they ? Let them sort their own selves out.THEY all wanted the Euro..we should paddle our own canoe..
    • Mr Who  •  Nottingham, England  •  3 months ago
This man clearly stated that Briton would not contribute to the last bailout. this statement insinuates that we did.
    • George, A  •  Manchester, England  •  3 months ago

Greece population 10,767,827 (July 2012 est.)
      Bail out in Euro 270 000 000 000
= 25 074.69 per person including newly born
that is more than my yearly salary.
      Insane
    • SONICBANG1  •  2 months ago
HE say's he won't bail out the EURO but will he be giving money to the imf for them to bail out the EURO??? After all, if the imf bail Greece out, we are actually giving money to save the EURO. Let it sink!!!!
    • ROBIN  •  London, England  •  3 months ago
Yes but Osborne has sanctioned £57 billion of taxpayers loans from UK via IMF french president madame Legrande
    • Sue  •  Manchester, England  •  3 months ago
I voted for UKIP last time round because all the main parties went back on their promise to give Britain a referendum on its membership of the EU and the main reason is that they were terrified that the majority of us would want to get out of this corrupt, hugely wasteful organisation.

      NOT READY FOR ANOTHER BAILOUT
DID THEY NOT SAY THEY WERE NOT INVOLVED IN THE FIRST BAILOUT
      THE UK GOVERMENT PLEAD POVERTY
BUT AT THE SAME TIME THIS YEAR GAVE 32 BILLION IN FORIEGN AID
ANYONE GOT AN ISSUE WITH THAT
    • Keith  •  3 months ago
Osbourne could reduce fuel duty on diesel alone....As most companies use only this fuel it would benefit the economy without opening the flood gates to the petrol market...At least reduce diesel to the same price as petrol!.....Probably too simple.....
