Country music star Brice escapes bus fire in US

MESA, Arizona (AP) — A tour bus carrying country music star Lee Brice caught on fire outside a restaurant in the Phoenix suburb of Mesa, forcing the musician and his crew to flee.

KNXV-TV (http://bit.ly/z2VYTG ) reports that the group had been on the road for nine hours when the bus caught on fire Saturday. The "Love Like Crazy" singer had a concert in Mesa.

Mesa firefighter Shaun Denman says crews worked quickly to keep the fire from spreading to a trailer behind the bus. He says the flames were "about as high as the roof of the building."

Brice says he and a few other people were asleep at the time. He says they left the bus "and within of minutes it was in flames."

He says he's thankful no one was hurt.

Evidently it is a crappy one if it doubles as a BBQ grill.

The country music artists come and go so quick now days, that it's hard to keep up with them. If they are not producing Platinum or mulltimillion sellers, the record companies shove them out. I recently seen where Allen Jackson's record company dropped him, and he's been a Super Star for 3 decades or more.

You used the phrases "i seen" and "super star" in the same sentence. Awesome.

I follow country music -- know of him for years. He has written songs performed by many more popular artists as well.

If yahoo supplied a picture it would be 50 pixels large so you'd have to hold your eyes an inch away to see it.

Wow, he doesn't know how lucky he is. A RV can be gutted in about 90 sec., and they are not easy to leave.

"and within of minutes it was in flames."
Once again, AP doesn't bother to proofread anything.

I don't think you can call him a country music star when most people that follow country music have never heard of him.

      Never heard of him.

Glad Brice and band mates escaped injury. Since country is the only music genre I listen to, I definitely know who he is. For the doof in TN who doesn't, big deal. I am sure there are musicians I've not heard of in our NW either.

OMG, he came so close to death, what a near death experience for him. It must have felt like hours waiting for the driver to open the door so he could hop off, I wonder if he went first and left the crew behind. Typical Yahoo to give no details.
