Do you know this person? Police seek identity of mystery beach man

A national police appeal has been launched to find out the real identity of a man who woke up on a beach with no recollection of who he was.

In this unusual identity crisis case, the confused man claims to have woken up on the sands in Deal, Kent, on Wednesday 17 August, holding sunglasses, a walking stick and cigarettes.

Concerned, he asked directions for the nearest hospital and walked into the Minor Injury Unit at the Victoria Hospital the next day suffering from head pains and amnesia.

He was subsequently transferred to the Queen Elizabeth The Queen Mother Hospital in Margate.

According to police, the middle-aged man doesn’t have any obvious injuries and doesn’t appear to have been sleeping rough.

Police have released the above photo of the unidentified man in the hope that someone will recognise him.

A spokeswoman from Kent Police told Yahoo! News this morning that he has an English accent and is in his late 50s to early 60s. He has a large build and was wearing black Wrangler jeans, a white T-shirt and patterned sweatshirt at the time. He also had a navy blue walker's coat and was wearing beige walking boots.”

So far nothing has led to the man’s identity and it doesn’t appear that he has been reported missing.
