Drinking Kronenbourg Makes You Twice As Drunk As Becks Vier - Here’s Why

Drinking strong lagers such as Kronenbourg can actually make you twice as drunk over the course of a few hours, experts claim.

Strong lagers such as Kronenbourg have 5% alcohol, in contrast to 4% in lagers such as Becks Vier.

But the difference this can make to a drinker’s blood alcohol level is far more than you might think.

Over the course of three hours, the body can ‘get rid’ of three units of alcohol - meaning that the ‘extra’ alcohol in stronger beers makes a huge difference, experts from Draft magazine said.

After three pints of Becks Vier, containing 1.4 units, over the course of three hours, 1.2 units of ‘excess’ alcohol remain in the system.

After three pints of stronger 5% lager, such as Kronenbourg, each pint’s 1.8 units leads to 2.4 units excess, Draft magazine said.
