    Europa League Round Up

Liverpool came from behind to beat Young Boys 5-3 n the Europa League group stages.

Brendan Rodgers side found themselves 3-2 down during the match but Jonjo Shelvey scored twice late on to give the visitors a 5-3 victory.

Liverpool had taken the lead through a bizarre own goal when a defensive clearance hit Young Boys' Juhani Ojala and ended up in the net.

But Liverpool were rocked when their Swiss opponents equalised through Raphael Nuzzolo in the 38th minute.

But their lead only lasted 2 minutes as Andre Wisdom gave the Merseysiders a 2-1 half time lead.

In the second half Young Boys rallied and found themselves in the lead in a ten minute spell that saw Ojala score at the right end before Gonzalo Zarate gave them a surprise lead.

That goal seemed to wake up Liverpool up and once again they were level quickly. Sebastian Coates heading them level before Shelvey grabbed two late goals to save their blushes.

In Portugal, there was no such goal fest as Newcastle drew nil-nil with Maritimo. Dan Gosling and Shola Ameobi hit the woodwork either side of the interval.

At White Hart Lane there was also a stalemate between Tottenham faced Lazio as Clint Dempsey and Steven Caulker both saw goals disallowed for being off-side and pushing respectively.
