Five Beautiful Argentina Soccer Jerseys to Give at Christmas

When I wear my Argentina National Team jersey, I'm always amazed at how many comments I get. In my hometown, its unusual to spot jerseys with anything besides Denver Broncos, Colorado Rockies, Denver Nuggets, Colorado Avalanche or Colorado Rapids on them.

I spent several months in Argentina when I was younger. While I was there I obtained some Argentina pride and an Argentina soccer team jersey to go with it. Their jersey is a spin-off of their light blue and white flag. No matter where you are in Argentina, you'll see its flag flying proudly and you'll meet someone who loves soccer. My jersey is quite old and worn, but I've found its closest replacement and listed it first in my suggestions for beautiful Argentina jerseys to put underneath your tree.

    1. Adidas Argentina Home Replica Performance Jersey. My old jersey looks just like this, minus the team logo. I like not having the collar and I love the material--it's really comfortable. This newer jersey uses a technology called ClimLITE, which wicks moisture away from you. At $39.99, perhaps I can afford to replace my old jersey this year.

    2. Adidas Argentina Toddler Light Blue-White Home Performance Team Uniform Soccer Set. This is such a cute jersey and shorts set made of the comfy polyester that makes soccer clothes so nice to wear. The set is $49.99, which at my house comes to about $12.50 a year between the two years my oldest will wear it and the two years my youngest will get out of it.

    3. Adidas Argentina Training Performance Jersey. The blue and white stripes are a bit too loud for my husband. This jersey is perfect for him at $44.95. At a glance, it's just a great looking sports jersey. A detailed look will show a tasteful, light blue stripe along the sides of his ribs and the Argentine team logo on his chest.

    4. Argentina Home Goalkeeper Jersey. The thing I like about long sleeve jerseys like this one is that it can be used for multiple occasions, even with the padded features. I would wear this $79.99 jersey to a chilly, fall Colorado Rapids night game. I'd wear it as a winter biking jersey, and I'd wear it skiing or snowshoeing.

    5. Diego Maradona Signed Argentina Jersey. The $649.99 price tag on this baby is proof that Argentina takes its soccer seriously. I saw this Argentinian superstar during my short stay in Buenos Aires; he was being chased by hundreds of fans. If you want to cause a ruckus, buy this jersey and wear it in Argentina.

During my four wonderful months in Argentina I learned just how important futbol (soccer) was to most Argentinians. In our isolated construction camp the guys held nightly futbol matches in a makeshift, dirt field. At our processing facility in Tucuman the guys all wore jerseys from their local neighborhood club futbol teams. And in Buenos Aires, my colleagues and I had to run into a doorway to escape a mob of hundreds who were chasing Diego Maradona, the famous Argentina soccer player who lead the Argentina national soccer team to capture the 1986 World Cup.
