Four Held Over Payments To Police Officers

Four men including a serving police officer have been arrested over payments to police in the phone-hacking inquiry.

The 29-year-old male officer was detained at the police station in central London where he works.

The other three men, aged between 48 and 56, were arrested after police swooped on their homes, Scotland Yard said.

All four were held under Operation Elveden, which is running alongside the Operation Weeting hacking inquiry.

That makes it ok then Rob does it???
Fred, they get the job because they have never been caught before so there is no suspicion, simple as that.
Few, if any of us are above being corrupt in some way, its all a matter of scale.

Why does it come as such a surprise that our law enforcement agencies are involved, I thought that would be a forgone conclusion by now! We all have our price! AND YOU ARE A LITTLE NAIVE IF YOU THINK THAT THE PEOPLE WHO ARE SUPPOSED TO PROTECT US DON'T HAVE THEIR PRICE!

AT the end of this expensive saga it will be interesting to see how many police and phone hackers are charged and go to court.

Are News International fit and proper people to have such control of the media within the UK?
      I think not.

my guess - one bent copper will be the scapegoat for the rest of the bent police. something like that.

Nothing worse than bent coppers ! They destroy the reputation of the decent majority.

The heading states 'police offers' (plural) then goes on to state in the body of the text that only one officer has been arrested. Let's hope that more arrests are made and charges laid, rather than possibly a token scape goat sacrificied on behalf of a much larger number.

There must be evidence that enabled this police officer to be arrested, and not just this one! I wonder when Rebekah Brooks and the Murdochs will have their collars felt? Are we seeing a cover up? Will Cameron be involved somewhere along the way? The last Labour government were in the pockets of the Murdochs and Rebekah Brooks was very friendly with Cameron in particular. This whole charade has been dragging on and on. They do say that rats are one of the best survivors on earth, perhaps that's why many politicians are so good at ducking and diving, they have similar dna. No doubt there will be those that will be made to be sacrificial lambs to ensure the guilty parties get away scot free!
