Gaga Posts Underwear Pictures In Weight Row

Lady Gaga has lashed out at critics of her weight gain, posting a series of underwear snaps online to prove she is "proud at any size".

The You And I singer, who is currently on tour as part of her Born This Way Ball tour, uploaded the pictures on her Little Monsters social-networking site under the title A Body Revolution 2013.

Alongside the pictures she confessed: "I've battled bulimia and anorexia since I was 15."

The revelation comes in reaction to recent criticism of her 25 pound (11kg) weight gain, which she has attributed to eating too much Italian food.

Lady Gaga started the forum to encourage people "to address body image issues and embrace and share their flaws and insecurities".

The Grammy-winning artist confessed she did not “feel bad" about gaining weight and even admitted that her boyfriend preferred her "curvier".

In the captions of the revealing photos, Gaga said she wanted to "inspire bravery".

Earlier in the week the singer passed along some wisdom via Twitter from the iconic beauty Marilyn Monroe.

She said: "To all the girls who think you're ugly because you're not a size 0, you're the beautiful ones. It's society who's ugly."

Gaga then added how much she appreciated her fans' unbiased opinions of her body image.

"Thank you to my fans who love me no matter what and know the meaning of real beauty and compassion. I really love you."
