Garden Spade Murderer David Glasgow Missing

Police are trying to trace a convicted murderer who has breached the terms of his release from prison.

David Glasgow, 44, has failed to comply with strict conditions imposed by the probation service which limited his movements after his release.

Glasgow was jailed in December 1998 for murdering an acquaintance with a garden spade seven months earlier.

Nicholas Daymon, 45, died in the garden of his home in the Alum Rock area of Birmingham as a result of multiple injuries.

In a drunken stupor, police say Glasgow then set the victim’s body alight.

Police have been hunting for Glasgow since his disappearance on March 8 and have searched a number of homes across the West Midlands.

PC Natalie Hodgkiss, from West Midlands Police's offender management team, said: "We have been checking addresses and have put alerts across the country in a bid to locate Mr Glasgow.

"He is known to frequent the Birmingham area and has links to Scarborough and Worcester.

"We would urge anyone who knows of his whereabouts to call us."
