Grammy Winner Adele Dismisses Love Career Break

Grammy award winning singer Adele has dismissed suggestions she will take a five-year break from the music business.

The reports surfaced following an interview the British singer gave to US Vogue magazine in which she indicated a desire to take a break to concentrate on her relationship with 37-year-old Simon Konecki.

But writing on her blog , Adele, who won six Grammys on Sunday, laughed off the rumours.

"I've a few days off now, and then it's the Brit Awards here at home and then I'm straight into the studio. BOYYAHH! 5 years? More like 5 days"

Adele won every award she was nominated for at the Grammys and made her performing comeback following throat surgery.

On her blog she described it as "the most incredible night of my life".

The 23-year-old said she was swinging between laughter and tears as she recalled the night which saw her album 21 honoured.

She also won best record for Rolling In The Deep, song of the year, best pop solo performance, pop vocal and short video.

Adele revealed she had not prepared any acceptance speeches as she was convinced she would not win.

She wrote: "Despite the phenomenal year, I swear I didn't think I had any chance.

"All the categories were full of people I adore with brilliant songs, records and performances.

"So not in my wildest dreams did I think to actually prepare anything proper to say just in case."

The singer, whose best-selling album 21 was inspired by a failed relationship, told Vogue she was "madly in love" with Mr Konecki, a charity fundraiser.

"He's wonderful. He looks after me," she said.

But in the same interview, admitted that work had ruined past relationships.

She said: "If I am constantly working, my relationships fail. So at least now I can have enough time to write a happy record. And be in love and be happy," she said.

"And then I don't know what I'll do. Get married. Have some kids. Plant a nice vegetable patch."

Adele is scheduled to perform at the Brit Awards in London on 21 February, where she is nominated in three categories.

She's a pro, the gigs become addictive. The relationship has to fit in around the gigs.

Taking a few years off is usually not a good decision in the entertainment world. When an entertainer/actor does this it sometimes fails. They disappear in the limelight of others.

I am am oldie but heard Adele's voice recently and could not believe my ears. She can sing the socks of just about anyone (except maybe Leona Lewis). I hope she does not take such a long break. I wish her well in her love life but she's too good to lose from the music scene for too long.

It would be a great shame to lose a voice like Adele's for 5 minutes never mind 5 years.
