Haye Beats Chisora In Fifth-Round Knockout

Boxer David Haye has beaten Dereck Chisora with a fifth-round knockout at Upton Park.

Haye put Chisora on the canvas moments after the struggling boxer tried several wild shots at Haye.

Quick footwork by Haye got himself out of trouble on the ropes seconds before a Chisora knockdown.

Looking like the better fighter, Haye landed a classic left and right combination on Chisora, whose legs collapse under him.

The match was finished after Chisora went down a second time.

Boxer Audley Harrison tweeted: "Solid statement with powerful combination punching. Nice touch there."

The animosity between the pair started from the outset, with few expected the pace to last, such was the intensity.

Early on Chisora had taken control and was the driver of pace, repeatedly taking the lead but failing to land many punches.

While Chisora repeatedly tried to land big right-handers up high, Haye chose to defend low.

By the third round Haye had a slightly bloodied nose but had taken charge of the fight's pace.

After Chisora landed a late left hook on Haye as the bell went to end that round, a furious Haye started the fourth round taking more hits.

But Haye fought on as the match turned into a classic scrap.
