Hoffman Did Not Want 'Trust Fund' Kids

Philip Seymour Hoffman did not want his three children to be "trust fund" kids and rejected his accountant's suggestion he set aside money for them.

The New York Post says the children's court-appointed lawyer recently interviewed the actor's accountant, David Friedman.

In court documents from July 18, Mr Friedman recalled conversations with the Oscar winner about a trust for Cooper, Tallulah and Willa.

He said Hoffman wanted his estimated $35m (£20m) fortune to go his long-time partner and the children's mother, Mimi O'Donnell.

According to the filing, Mr Friedman said Hoffman treated Ms O'Donnell "in the same manner as if she were a spouse".

The court-appointed lawyer said the actor's will should be approved by the court because there is not anything suspicious about it.

Ms O'Donnell had ordered Hoffman to move out of the family home in New York as he struggled with his drug addiction.

He died of a heroin overdose in February aged 46.

Before his death Hoffman made A Most Wanted Man which is due for release in the UK on September 12.

He also stars in the final two films of the Hunger Games franchise.
