Annette Bening, Steven Spielberg and Meryl Streep were among family and friends who paid tribute to the late Nora Ephron at New York's Lincoln Center.
The Oscar-nominated screenwriter, known for romantic comedies When Harry Met Sally and Sleepless in Seattle, as well as books and essays, passed away in New York on June 26 after battling leukemia. She was 71.
Meg Ryan and Tom Hanks, who played the leading roles in Sleepless in Seattle, were also there to celebrate her life.
They were joined by many others in the movie industry, including Jon Hamm, Steve Martin, Matthew Broderick, Bette Midler, Rob Reiner and Barbara Walters.
The memorial was partly planned by Ephron, who kept details of what she wanted in a folder marked "exit" and tributes were made by 10 speakers including her sister Delia Ephron, actor Martin Short and comedian Rosie O'Donnell.
